Co-Ops, Enrichment Programs, & Clubs Overview

ARCH is blessed to offer a variety of co-ops, enrichment programs, and clubs that help families learn, grow, and build lasting friendships together. Each program is made possible by parents who generously share their time and talents to enrich our homeschool community.

What is the difference between a co-op, an enrichment program, and a club?

A Catholic co-op brings homeschooling families together to share the responsibility of enriching their children's education in a supportive, faith-centered community. Each co-op may offer different subjects, classes, or activities depending on the interests and talents of participating families. Because co-ops are parent-led, every participating family is expected to volunteer by teaching, leading, assisting in classes, or serving in another meaningful role to help the program succeed. 

An enrichment program also brings homeschooling families together into community, but it is not parent-led. Each program may offer different subjects, classes, or activities. While classes are typically drop-off with a paid instructor, the program relies on parent involvement to operate successfully, and each participating family is expected to fulfill volunteer responsibilities throughout the year. Volunteer opportunities may include assisting in classes, coordinating activities, or serving in other support roles as needed.

A club has less of a focus on education and more of a focus on building small communities based on individual interests. These will have an adult advisor who will schedule events, and parents will typically be expected to attend meetings with their students.

What types of co-ops, enrichment programs, and clubs does ARCH offer?

Carlo Acutis Enrichment Program
This is a drop-off program with an emphasis on working on skills that are hard to replicate in the homeschool setting, such as group projects.
Middle & High School.
Meets every other Friday in Apex.

Catholic Schoolhouse - Wake Forest Chapter
The Catholic Schoolhouse program includes memory work, songs, art, science, and more, cycling through three tours through time. 
Elementary & Middle School. Nursery offered.
Meets on Wednesdays in North Raleigh.

Mary, Seat of Wisdom Co-Op
This program includes subjects like chorus, science, art, and liturgical living.
PreK through 7th grade. 
Meets two Mondays per month in Cary.

St Bernadette's Catholic Co-Op
This program includes subjects like art, geography, history, and literature.
Up to age 7. Nursery offered.
Meets on Mondays in Fuquay-Varina.

Stella Maris Co-Op
This program includes drama, art appreciation, liturgical living, skills classes (such as handiworks, finance, gardening, and mending), and more. Toddler - PreK, Elementary, Middle, and High School.
Meets every Thursday in North Raleigh.

Clubs
ARCH clubs typically include Chess Club, Fishing Club, Nature Club, Teen Dance Committee, Yearbook Committee, and more.
